Holly R. Counts, Psy.D.

Dr. Counts is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Massachusetts. She obtained her bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in the field of psychology. Dr. Counts has been practicing since 1996, after obtaining her Psy.D. from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She has worked in a variety of settings and opened her own private practice in 2002. She specializes in trauma and abuse, domestic violence counseling, relationship/couple’s issues, women’s issues, adolescence, GLBTQ+, grief counseling and integrating holistic alternative approaches to wellness with traditional psychology. Her clinical training was eclectic in nature which fits both her personality and her approach to therapy. Her psychologist practice is located in beautiful Newburyport, MA.

John M. Grohol, Psy.D.

Dr. Grohol is a Boston-area mental health professional, technologist, published author, and expert in online behavior. He’s been a pioneer in Internet mental health, indexing Internet resources since 1992 and on the web at Psych Central since 1995. Dr. Grohol oversees the publishing of Psych Central and the trade publication, New England Psychologist. He sits on the scientific board of the journal, Computers in Human Behavior.

Marie Hartwell-Walker, Ed.D.

Dr. Hartwell-Walker is licensed in Massachusetts as both a psychologist and marriage and family therapist and has been in practice for over 40 years. She has authored advice columns for parents, articles and books on classroom discipline for teachers, and various programs for human service agencies and industry. Grounded in Adlerian psychology, her focus is on helping people take more responsibility for themselves and get along better with others. She is the author of 2 e-books, “Tending the Family Heart” and “Tending the Family Heart through the Holidays”. Dr. Marie and her husband of 50+ years have 4 adult children.

Gilbert Levin, Ph.D.

Dr. Levin is a professor of epidemiology and social medicine and of psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is the founder of a nationally prominent doctoral program in health psychology and the founder/director of the Cape Cod Institute, a summer-long series of continuing education courses for mental health and applied behavioral science professionals since 1980. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and of the Academy for Behavioral Medicine Research.

Dr. Levin is an author of two books which use computer simulation to analyze health and mental health policies. He was a founding editor of Health Care Management Review and an editor of Computers in Psychiatry/Psychology. In collaboration with Elizabeth Levin, he developed widely distributed educational software. Dr. Levin is co-chair of the 1996 Connected Computer Symposium and is the editor and publisher of Behavior onLine, a gathering place for mental health and applied behavioral science professionals on the World Wide Web.

Daniel Z. Sands, M.D., MPH

Dr. Sands is an internationally recognized lecturer, consultant, and thought leader in the area of clinical computing and patient and clinician empowerment through the use of computer technology. Most recently, Dr. Sands served as the Chief Medical Officer and VP for Clinical Strategies for Zix Corporation, where he provided clinical leadership that helped the company become a leader in e-prescribing. Prior to that, he was the Clinical Systems Integration Architect at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he had worked since 1991. He earned his baccalaureate at Brown University, medical degree at Ohio State University, and a master’s degree at Harvard School of Public Health. He did residency training at Boston City Hospital and an informatics fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and maintains a primary care practice in which he makes extensive use of health information technology.

John Schinnerer, Ph.D.

Dr. Schinnerer is President and Founder of Guide To Self, a company that focuses on coaching individuals and groups to their potential using the latest in psychology, psychoneuroimmunology and physiology. Most recently, Dr. John hosted over 200 episodes of Guide To Self Radio, a prime time radio show, in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated summa cum laude from U.C. Berkeley with a Ph.D. in psychology. Dr. John has been a coach and psychologist for over 20 years.

Dr. John’s areas of expertise range from positive psychology, to emotional awareness, to moral development to sports psychology. He is a noted writer and speaker on topics such as emotional intelligence, making a good brain great, and creating a healthy and efficient workplace.

John Suler, Ph.D.

Dr. Suler is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychology in the Science and Technology Center at Rider University. As one of the first online hypertext books, Dr. Suler’s Psychology of Cyberspace describes the results of his ongoing research on how individuals and groups behave in cyberspace.

He also has authored many articles and book chapters related to cyberspsychology. His work has been translated into seven languages and reported by widely known media such as The New York Times, Washington Post, BBC, CNN, NBC, and NPR. He is one of the founding members of the International Society of Mental Health Online and a consulting editor to several journals and websites that address issues related to life online. He created and maintains several other large web sites, including Teaching Clinical Psychology and Zen Stories to Tell Your Neighbors. Having a longstanding interest in photography and the role of images in identity expression and communication, Dr. Suler recently is developing “photographic psychology” and the use of digital imaging for illustrating psychological concepts (www.flickr.com/photos/jsuler/).

Bonnie Wiesner, Ed.S., Ph.D.

Dr. Wiesner is a licensed psychologist with graduate degrees in clinical psychology and marriage and family therapy. Dr. Wiesner is currently in private practice working with adults, adolescents, couples and families, helping them learn how to grow from life’s challenges. Dr. Wiesner has warmly guided patients for over 30 years to reach their fullest potential. She also has taught psychology at the graduate level, lectured internationally and has written articles for various publications. She is currently writing a book about the psychology of the relationship.
