Schizoid Fantasy

Retreating into autistic fantasy (daydreaming, eccentric speech) as a defense mechanism for avoiding intimacy.

Example: A 15-year-old boy dreams of being the world chess champion. He spends nearly all of his time alone studying the game and won’t discuss other topics.
