Many couples face but have a difficult time speaking about or changing the lack of sexual desire in their marriage. Because research tells us that sexual satisfaction is an important component of marital satisfaction, partners often feel deprived, worried, resentful and rejected when their intimate connection seems lost. Many want things to change but don’t know where to start.
That’s why I’m pleased to announce a free webinar tomorrow, entitled Understanding & Enhancing Sexual Desire in Your Marriage, October 15 at 7:00 pm ET.
The goal of this webinar, hosted by Psych Central blogger Dr. Suzanne B. Phillips, is to increase understanding and offer strategies for enhancing sexual desire and intimate connection.
The free webinar will consider the way in which sexual desire is affected by internal and external factors from stress to infidelity. It will invite recognition of gender differences and needs with regard to desire, arousal, and performance. It will acknowledge the impact of cultural myths and media messages on creating sexual misconceptions and will confront the impact of anger and trauma on sexual desire.
It will consider strategies that make possible the dialogue of confidants; the perception of self and other as desired and desirable; a feeling of mutuality, renewed imagination; opportunities for privacy, humor, pillow talk and new experiences.
