About Katherine Flannery Dering

Katherine Flannery Dering, author of Shot in the Head: A Sister’s Memoir, A Brother’s Struggle is the second of ten children. Her younger brother, Paul, was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 16. Katherine helped with his care intermittently for many years, but took on a more intense role after her parents' death.
