Mom’s Boyfriend Secretly Obsessed with Me

Asked by on with 1 answer:

How do you know if your mom’s boyfriend is secretly obsessed with you? He recently has been doing weird stuff like calling or texting my phone when my moms not around , complimenting me a little bit to much, sitting to close to me. Is been making me feel uncomfortable but i don’t try to think anything of it. (I’m in my early 20’s)

The only way to know may be to ask him. If he’s making you feel uncomfortable, then stay away from him. He’s your mother’s potential partner, and you have no obligation to him. If they broke up, you would probably never see him again.

Relatedly, you should tell your mother about your concerns. She probably wouldn’t appreciate his behavior. It may not be an easy conversation to have with her but she should know the truth. It may impact her decision to stay with him or not.

Dating is about finding the right match. A potential partner who’s flirting with a family member is a sign that perhaps your mother needs to move on. Having all of the facts will assist her in making an informed decision about whether or not to continue dating him.

Good luck with your efforts. Please take care.
