Positive aspects of the product (pros): The only sedative so far which has allowed me to sleep through the night and not feel groggy in the morning.
Negative aspects of the product (cons): I do personally sometimes have to take another one if I wake up halfway through the night, though this doesnt happen very often.

I was prescribed this med for insomnia a few months back, after trying ativan, clonazepam(which I already take for anxiety) and trazadone with no real good effect.

Works WONDERFULLY for me. To give a laymans terms descripton of this drug, it is a sedative hypnotic with a short half life(i think four hours or something like that) so it helps you get to sleep mostly. When Experiencing severe insomnia, sometimes I will awaken after that four hour half life or partway through the night, however, taking an additional 3.75 mg usually is enough to get back to sleep and sleep until it is time to awake.

This one was excellent for regulating my sleep, because it didnt leave me groggy in the morning. Others did, and I would end up oversleeping.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): helps one sleep
Negative aspects of the product (cons): bad taste in mouth, groggy, poor sleep quality, tolerance and withdrawal

I really liked this medication to start with. If left to my own devises my sleep schedule is to sleep around 3am and to wake around 10 or 11am. In hospital last cigarettes were at 10.30 so... I started with 1/2 a tablet of Imovane. It worked a treat! So I kept taking it. When I left hospital I moved to Zo-tab (generic) and experienced a really foul taste in my mouth the next day. Not so with Imovane (brand) however. After a while it wasn't working so well anymore so I started taking a whole tablet. After a while it wasn't working so well anymore so I started taking one and a half, then two tablets.

I took 2 tablets everynight for around 5 years. Eventually it wasn't working anymore (still struggling to sleep at 3am) so I decided to come off it. I didn't sleep for a week and nearly had to be hospitalised to get through it (dreaming while awake, feeling awake but paralysed etc etc). In hindsight gradual reduction probably would have been better... But I'm glad I'm off it now. Still have trouble sleeping sometimes but progressive muscle relaxation helps...

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Helps put you to sleep, the rest is nice, and don't feel groggy in the morning. I'm a breatsfeeding Mum and I can take the pills if I wait 6 hours to feed baby
Negative aspects of the product (cons): you will always need more and more, this is not a long term solution. generic brand do not seem to have the same consistancy of when it effects you. ie. 20min or like an hour

This is a great drug for helping you fall asleep. and it is safe while breastfeeding-my doc and Pharm. say (as long as you can wait the shelf life in your milk 6 hours). But this is a temporary thing you always need more eventually. things will be fine for a few months then you up it. then again.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): helps to sleep better for temporary only
Negative aspects of the product (cons): tummy and back aches

due distrubing sleeping patterns, this zopiclone helps me to sleep better along with quetiapine tablets. not to take it everyday only on ocassionally if unable to sleep such as bright and alert then take it at the same time eg 23.00 routinely for bed time therefore to control your sleeping pattern to be adjusted. I did that so far without any probs, fingers crosses!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): I have found that I do not wake as much in the night as I previously did. When I do awake, it is not for very long then I go back to sleep within a few minutes. I also notice that I sleep for 7 to 81/2 hours once I go to sleep probably 80 to 90% of the t
Negative aspects of the product (cons): I can never get rid of the metallic taste in my mouth that is present 99% of the time. When I drink water throughout the day, I noticed that this seems to enhance the metallic flavor for a while especially for the first couple of minutes after I take a dr

The part that concerns me the most is the sleep walking which I have absolutely never done in the past. I was completely terrified/horrified by this and I am going to speak with my psychiatrist in a day or so to discuss this problem. I won’t get into details lets just say I would advise anyone taking this drug to be aware of this and discuss the drug side effects with your doctor. Some sleeping aids can cause sleep walking with some people. This drug is sold under the name Imovane or Zopiclone.
The FDA (USA) has linked the best-selling sleep-inducing drug Zopiclone, sold in Canada under the brand name Imovane, to sleepwalking behaviours. The agency has also linked the drug to sleep driving — driving a car while not fully awake after taking a sedative-hypnotic drug, with no memory of doing so. In the U.S., the FDA said there have been dozens of reports of bizarre behaviour during sleep among people who have taken a sleeping pill called Ambien. In most cases, Ambien seems to be the drug responsible for the bizarre sleeping behaviours, said Dr. Carlos Schenck, a sleep disorder specialist at the University of Minnesota. "There's something about the Ambien that activates the motor system, the locomotion system in the brainstem, so that people will then have the urge to move around, and with it perhaps the primitive urge to eat," said Schenck.
I hope this is helpful to someome.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Low side-effects
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Didn't help me sleep

I was taking the med at the highest safe dosage, and it didn't help me sleep at all. Because it was only temporary, as directed, I had to find something else anyways.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): if youre not asleep during the first few hours, its a nice dreamy state, i usually fall asleep straight away.
Negative aspects of the product (cons): major appetite increase the day after taking. zombie state day after also, unable to do much at all. but eat. and eat. and eat.

not good for people with eating disorders as it caused day-after appetite increase. this usually turns into a downward spiral for me and huge binging happens that leads into purging and more binging, purging then restricting.. zopiclone seems to kickstart my eating disorders when im tired therefore not too prepared.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): helps me sleep
Negative aspects of the product (cons): how do youget rid of the horrible after taste the next day

Please someone let me know how to get rid of the after taste that Imovane/Rhovane leaves in your mouth for the entire next day. A friend of mine takes the stuff and she told me that drinking a full glass of orange juice while taking it works, I tried, but it did not work on me

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Ummm...what is it supposed to do
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Metallic after-taste, Very unpredictable, Can cause Zombie like state the whole day after, Can be hazard when driving the next morning

About 1% of the time I would hit it on target and sleep soundly the rest of the time, it would either hit me mid-day the following day and I would be out for the count no matter what I do, or I would be in a Zombie stupor the whole following day and would get dangerously drowsy on the way to work.
