Spark Action SparkAction is an online journalism and advocacy center by and for the child and youth field. With our partners, we work to:
1. Connect concerned adults and young people—whether they’re new to the issues or already activists—to compelling, accurate information and context on children’s issues, as well as tools to take action, from volunteering to advocating for better policies and programs.
2. Help child- and youth-focused organizations effectively reach a broad audience—the public, professional peers, and policymakers—with their content and materials.
3. Break down silos in the broad child and youth field and strengthen connections among organizations and agencies to create a stronger, unified voice for children and youth.
Through our Website, SparkAction gives visitors the information and tools they need to learn about issues affecting children, families, and communities and to take action to improve policies and programs, and, ultimately, the fabric of our nation as a whole.

The Birds and the Bees: Talking to Young Teens About Sex How did you learn about sex? My husband tells about coming home from school one day to find a book about "reproduction" (not sex) on his bed. Nothing was ever said about it. I, on the other hand, am part of a whole generation of girls who learned about menstruation and the mechanics of making and having babies from a movie shown after school "for girls only." Little was said at my house beyond some hemming and hawing about whether I should go to the film. Friends of mine learned what little they knew from friends, some of whom had more enlightened parents, but most of whom had equally ignorant friends. Is it any wonder that most of us were more than a little confused? Preview Website -

Women's LawTop Rated WomensLaw.org was founded in February 2000 by a group of lawyers, teachers, advocates, and web designers interested in seeing the power of the Internet work for more disadvantaged people and specifically for survivors of domestic violence. We pulled together our experiences and resources and launched this website in October 2001.WomensLaw.org changed its formal name from Women's Law Initiative in 2005.
The Mission of WomensLaw.org is to provide easy-to-understand legal information and resources to women living with or escaping domestic violence or sexual assault. By reaching out through the Internet, we empower women and girls to lead independent lives, free from abuse.
As you will see on these pages, the site publishes state-specific legal information for domestic violence. It also publishes information on getting help in your community. We also provide help through email, directly to women and advocates, throughout the U.S. Preview Website -

YEAH YEAH Out Loud Empowering kids to discover their inner “cheer” leader...YEAH YEAH Out Loud, a children’s self esteem tool for use in early learning environments (3-8 year olds) is “launching” its’ home grown (Vancouver, WA) efforts.
The core of this compared to others is two fold:
1) YYOL sends the message early as a foundational building block that when the going gets tough, you are your own best “cheer” leader; vs. a fix it later remedy.
2) The YEAH YEAH Out Loud theme helps the child realize the “cheer” leader lies within. Preview Website -
