Major report on tigers to be released Thursday at National Zoo

The most comprehensive scientific study of tiger habitat ever done will be released at a press conference at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. at 8:00 a.m., July 20, 2006. The study, produced by some of the world's leading tiger scientists contains startling new findings and calls for specific international actions to safeguard remaining populations from poaching and loss of habitat, as well as protection of the prey species that tigers need to survive.

A Sumatran tiger will be on display before and during the press conference. Photographs and B-Roll will be available.
