Elsevier congratulates its award winning authors and editors

Washington, D.C., February 8, 2006 – Elsevier is pleased to announce that five of its professional and scholarly books were honored by The Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division (PSP) of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) at the 2005 Awards for Excellence in Professional and Scholarly Publishing yesterday.

The Atlas of Clinical Gross Anatomy, by Drs. Kenneth Moses, John C. Banks, Pedro B. Nava and Mr. Darrell Peterson and published by the Mosby division of Elsevier, was selected to receive the prestigious R.R. Hawkins Award for the Outstanding Professional, Reference or Scholarly Work of 2005, one of the highest honors in this field and one traditionally awarded to titles published by one of the University presses.

"Elsevier is proud of this recognition of a truly remarkable work, which is the result of the effort and dedication of dozens of individuals," stated Brian Nairn, Chief Executive Officer, Health Sciences, Elsevier. "We felt from the beginning – eight years ago – that this was a worthy and worthwhile project and one that will make a real difference in the study of anatomy for medical students all over the world."
