Solar cars: Canadian university students compete in race

AUSTIN, TEXAS -- On Sunday, July 17, Mr. Jean-Michel Roy, Canadian Consul-General for Texas, will represent Canada at the opening ceremony of the North American Solar Challenge 2005. Mr. Roy, who will speak on behalf of the Honourable R. John Efford, Minister of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), will be joined by other Canadian and U.S. government and industry representatives.

The solar vehicle race, sponsored by NRCan, begins on Sunday in Austin Texas and ends on Wednesday, July 27 in Calgary, Alberta. Five Canadian university teams, also sponsored by NRCan, will compete.
