Press registration materials are now available online for the American Society for Microbiology's 45th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) being held September 21-24, 2005 in New Orleans, LA.
Known as the preeminent world meeting for presenting new information on clinical and basic research in infectious diseases and anti-infective therapy, ICAAC has also traditionally served as a forum for the introduction of new antimicrobial agents. This year's ICAAC will attract approximately 11,000 attendees from the United States and abroad and over 150 exhibitors are expected to display the latest in research, equipment, products and publications in the field.
The Program Committee has invited internationally renowned faculty to speak in over 100 sessions that include Symposia, Meet-the-Experts Sessions, Focus Sessions and Interactive Sessions.
Members of the media are invited to attend and comprehensive media facilities will be available. All media representatives must be registered to attend sessions; registration is limited to a maximum of three individuals from a single media outlet. Please note that videotaping in session rooms, the exhibit hall and post sessions is not allowed.
If you are interested in attending and would like to download the pre-registration form and preliminary program, please visit our website at http://www.asm.org/Media/index.asp?bid=14884. The pre-registration/housing deadline is August 26, 2005. As the ICAAC housing block often sells out quickly and far in advance of the housing deadline you are strongly encouraged to pre-register as early as possible.
We will no longer be mailing final programs and abstract books prior to the meeting. If you find yourself in absolute need of one please contact Carrie Patterson at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to accommodate you based on a limited supply. Please note for your calendar that the press room will be open for registration from 12 to 5 on Tuesday, September 20th and sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. An opening press briefing has been tentatively scheduled for 12:00 on September 21st.
I hope to see you in New Orleans. If you have any questions feel free to contact Carrie Patterson at (202-942-9389) or e-mail at email@example.com or Jim Sliwa at (202-942-9297) or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.

It is common sense to take a method and try it; if it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.
