Glossolalia

By Renée Grinnell

The practice of uttering unintelligible, though fluent and speechlike, vocalizations. Often associated with religious practice, where it is more commonly known as speaking in tongues.

Example: A nun is hospitalized after standing up during Mass and screaming in an unknown language for several minutes.
