Conflict

A state of disagreement in which the needs, values, and interests of the parties involved are under perceived or actual threat. Conflict can also be internal, that is, within oneself.

Example: When the couple was undergoing a divorce, they hired a professional mediator to help resolve their heated financial disagreements.
