The application of scientific knowledge about behavior in order to positively influence people’s social actions and interactions. Also known as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Example: The behavioral psychologist acts as a consultant to several anti-drunk driving initiatives, offering professional advice on effective ways to discourage people from driving while intoxicated.
