12 Ways to Mend a Broken Heart

12 Ways to Mend a Broken HeartBess Myerson once wrote that “to fall in love is awfully simple, but to fall out of love is simply awful,” especially if you are the one who wanted the relationship to last. But to stop loving isn’t an option. Author Henri Nouwen writes, “When those you love deeply reject you, leave you, or die, your heart will be broken. But that should not hold you back from loving deeply. The pain that comes from deep love makes your love ever more fruitful.” But how do we get beyond the pain? Here are 12 techniques I’ve gathered from experts and from conversations with friends on how they patched up their hearts and tried, ever so gradually, to move on.

  2. Very nice

iwill back soon to finish it

  3. About the part “Creating a new world…” I have found that hanging out with my most positive friends helps kind of push me in the other direction. I have also made it a point to hang out with friend that didnt know me and my ex girlfriend as a couple… As well as hang out with more female friends.

I find that just being around feminine energy helps ease the brunt of the broken heart of not have my ex around.

  4. These are great pieces of advice, especially the detach part. Staying dependent just prolongs the pain!

  5. I really advice movies about break up. 500 days of Summer for example, love it! And it helped much in my situation… :)

    • One of the best movies of all the times regarding break up… this is A MUST for everyone who want to go on!

  6. hey ..i’ll try to mend my heart in this way…
if i can stand up in this world again….
    i’ll be back… :)
    thanks

  7. The last five years have been so difficult for me. I feel that I lost my best friend, that I have never gotten over it. I just haven’t been able to find love again. It is very weird because it feels like I lost someone, but they are still in this world. I just can’t get past that. I just feel like I made a terrible mistake and that something is wrong with me. But, despite it all I am starting to feel hope. This blog has really helped me. Thank you

  8. Thank you Therese – this helped me immensely. Sound, practical, advice.

I’d also recommend TrueHope’s EmpowerPlus super-multivitamin caps for general health and well-being – they’ve physically picked me up in the 2 days I’ve been on them (and no, I’m not a salesperson for them!) – and music by Mozart – to take your mind off the person that’s harrowing you :-)
