  1. There’s no justifying the board’s atrocious behavior toward Dr. Ellis, but I can’t help but wonder about his judgment. Why would a highly-succesful–legendary, in fact–leader in the field turn his work, his considerable earnings, and even his name over to a board of directors that he cannot control? I don’t question his good intentions in founding the Institute, but is the man so trusting that he never thought to set aside some money for his own healthcare?
