I am a veteran, and wearing my uniform today. I served my country as a sargeant (at 19) in the Women’s Army Corps.

Dr. Grohol,
I am a service connected disabled combat veteran from the first Persian Gulf War and I am also a post-doctoral supervised psychologist.Thank you for your advocacy. The VA has been plagued by many problems throughout the years. This includes a increasing backlog of claims for service connected disabilities. Veterans must wait months to several years (My initial claim took 4 years to be approved)here is a link to a story from Bostan’s local fox affiliate on two veterans caught up in the paperwork shuffle.

Further here is a link to an excellent site that keeps tabs on the Veterans Administration. This is a great site to allow others to get a taste of the the barriers that veterans often face when seeking treatment along with other bureaucratic stories related to veterans. This is a must read website for any veteran that feels they are alone.
