There are many contributing factors to our happiness. Nothing “makes us happy.”
According to the wisdom traditions, our natural state is happiness – we’re born into that state and with time, it gets covered up. When we come to realize that we’re not the “I” or identity we consider ourselves to be, we experience true happiness. The access to this realization is usually through getting out of our thinking and into our bodies or experience in the present moment. The typical way is through practices like meditation and yoga. In the present moment, life is perfect the way it is!
