What do you do when you’re unhappy with the situation you’re in?

Some try to numb themselves with their drug of choice (sometimes this means food, caffeine or shopping sprees). It’s the reason why they phase out or turn off life. The pain of whatever situation they’re in, no matter how benign, makes them so uncomfortable they would rather treat the symptoms than confront the source.

One particular episode of an old reality TV show, The Osbournes,” exemplifies this. It’s the episode where Ozzy couldn’t sleep and was seeing specialists to figure out what was wrong. In a hilarious and shocking spin, they reveal recordings shot throughout the day of Ozzy (unbeknownst to him), drinking massive amounts of coffee in large bowl-sized mugs.

It’s a great example of how we may be sabotaging our health by making disadvantageous choices that over time can significantly impair our lives. Through awareness we can right our wrongs and actually delve into the problems that are placing us in situations we’d rather not be in.

This week you’ll learn alternative ways to overcome your addiction, get vital tips to help your children with bullying (especially useful with school right around the corner), find out an easy way to boost your cognition, learn why sleep is so imperative to your mental health and get advice on how to reduce your anxiety. If you’re having difficulty facing your fears or need a push to make necessary changes in your life, you’ll want to read this week’s posts. Have a great weekend!
