Back in August, we were proud to bring our readers and loyal viewers news of one of the benefits of Psych Central — our drug discount card. It can save you up to 80% or more off the cost of prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs and yes, even pet prescription drugs.
In October 2011, people who used our card saved over $500!
The Psych Central Drug Discount Card is accepted at over 60,000 pharmacies, including major chains such as Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid and at regional chains and local stores. It is offered in partnership with NeedyMeds.

Check the cash price of the drugs first….sometimes the card price is much higher….A pharmacist that has been looking out for patients for over 20+ years…..check the price of the drug for a three month supply….if getting it for the first time….although it may be a bit more expensive….try just a week or 2 at a time..unless your doc gave you samples…That way if you have a month’s worth and you can’t use it…you don’t have some sunk costs…you can’t take it back….This is just a personal note….Sometimes it takes a few minutes at the pharmacy….I caught two things the computer did not the other day…Beta Blockers increase blodd glucose…i thought it was a drug interaction at first(I have been out of pharmacy for a bit do to a car wreck…) but it an adverse reaction instead…but this occurs 5 to 12% of the time..the patient was a diabetic ….and I looked at the patient profile to see if I remembered that the patient was a diabetic…..The computer missed this fact and saw another drug drug interaction missed that could have caused orthostatic hypotenstion(drop in blood pressure that could cause person to hit the floor when standing..maybe hit head). This took more than just a minute to check. Yet I think the patient needs to know this. Not bad for being out of pharmacy for about three years….and working 6 months as a volunteer about 21 hours a week and now 1 day a week until I can find a job.
