  1. Some of what you call shame seems to fall under a different label to me although I may not be able to pin at tail on it. I do think it is important to recognize triggers as you say. Feeling worthy is a wonderful feeling. I have gone through extremes in my life of feeling very worthy and feeling unworthy. I am grateful that by talking to people that they helped me have a better perspective. Their acceptance is a huge part of my coping with life.

  2. Thank you so much for this article: about 5 years ago I realised that shame was the very essence of my experience of depression. Not shame about anything particular, but shame that welled up over just about anything and then overwhelmed me. I’v been surprised at how little is written about this phenomenon.

  3. Brene’ Brown is a great resource. I love that she uses her own experiences, showing that she is just as human as the rest of us [and is a fabulously funny story teller, too!]. I found her material to be immensely helpful in determining my own triggers so I could better get a handle on them. She should be mandatory reading!
