Believe it, my 19 year old son was placed on an antidepressant and 37 days later he comitted suicide.
How on earth can any causal relationship be made? It is frankly impossible from the study design. What MUST happen, are more placebo controlled trials. Longitudinal studies (comparing then, to another time period, now) CANNOT, by design, demonstrate causality. But the drug companies do not want to compare their drugs to placebo, because the scariest thing might happen: there might be no difference…. or worse, the placebo might be better. Hence, there are gazillions of studies comparing one SSRI to another, and about 3 comparing them to placebo. Medical research is completely corrupt, from the top down, inside out… trust me, I’m an insider turned outsider. I give up, doctors and PhDs are just too smart, and can turn any study into their argument.
