I thought Seligmans’ work on helpless depression was valuable, but I hated his description of his experiments on puppies. Has he stopped stopped shocking puppies? I hope so. Nobody needs to do that to prove that when the game is rigged, you get depressed. That falls into the “d’oh” category.
