  1. I love this post! As a psychology student (and aficionado) that recently took a marketing position, I definitely relate. I started my blog/website because of all the things I was learning in my psychology classes that related to so much of what it means to be a person – sex, relationships, parenting, etc. – I just remember thinking over and over, “how are all of these things not common knowledge!”

In the end, psychology is the study of people. It’s trying to make sense of who we are and why we do what we do. In a world that is inundated with advertising on every level – from the conscious to the subconscious – I think the two have a close relationship – whether or not we always want to admit it. I am confident my psychology background will make me successful in marketing, and I hope to keep exploring the connection in the future.

Thank you for the great article – it’s printed and highlighted in my notebook :)
