  1. My mother told me in 2007 that she suspect that i was sad and depressed as young as six months old. She, i believe that my mama was in the early stages of her pregnancy with one of my siblings, a series of patterns of my mother’s habitual neglect on me for them, amongst others. My mother gave for others, especially my siblings and many of my spiteful maternal/paternal relatives, amongst others being 34 tomorrow, i realize that my selfish mother is the reason why i am who i am today. Single, lonely, promiscious, and an impoverished mother, who voluntarly gave up my only son and daughter last week. (I gave them up so they don’t have the life i have, but never asked for it). I don’t wish this on anyone, not even a tiny, little child, like i was in the cold winter of 1977.

    • Dear Delilah. I have travelled a similar journey to what you have described. A journey that can’t be told or explained without receiving some form of rath or ridicule from society. The mother you needed, was not able to deal with her own needs let alone your basic security and development. In fact you may have become as did I, the “bad child”, the target of endless cycles of physical and emotional punishment. You have made a great realization in your life and it took the greatest courage of all to “give up” your kids for their benefit. I would recommend 2 great old books “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” & Gail Sheehy’s “Passages”. I ended up choosing life over the troubled, imprinted, invisible damage my parents had provided. I stuggled along the way and confronted extinction on more than one endless occasion. But I ended up very successful in society’s terms. That was the key. I would more than beat society at their own game regardless of the damaged goods sentence I had received. I did the therapy trip… and 30 years later I can say on life’s balance sheet ..I show a profit. I hope you do too!

      • Sorry, I’m late on this: Thank you, for your kind response….PEACE!
