What Little Awesome Things Make You Happy? One of my friends from blogland is Neil Pasricha, who has the wonderful site 1000 Awesome Things, where he lists, yes, awesome things! It always makes me happy to visit there. For example, some awesome things include:

The Kids’ Table

The smooth feeling on your teeth when you get your braces off

Pulling a weed and getting all the roots with it

That moment in the shower when you decide to make it a really long shower

Letting go of the gas pump perfectly so you end on a round number

Sneaking cheaper candy into the movie theater

Picking the fastest moving line at the grocery store checkout

Coming back to your own bed after a long trip

Neil has also written two books of awesome things, and the second one hits the shelves today: The Book of Even More Awesome. (Neil and I bond over Canada’s Globe and Mail bestseller list, because both our paperbacks have been kicking around there for a gratifyingly long time.)

Neil very kindly offered to send a copy of his new book to three readers, so if you’re interested in getting a free copy, post your own example of an “awesome thing” here, and we’ll pick three winners at random.

Want a copy of my Resolutions Chart, for inspiration? Email me at gretchenrubin1 at gmail dot com. Just write “chart” in the subject line.
