Best of Our Blogs

If you thought we were done with celebrations in April, think again. It’s a brand new week and the start of a new month (my favorite month I might add). In fact, besides May Day, Cinco de Mayo and spring flowers, there’s also Mental Health Month, a fresh new blog, a blog birthday and several top posts vying for your attention on Psych Central this week. May’s turning out to be a month filled with things this blogger is thankful for. So let’s get started!

Mental Health Statistics

(World of Psychology) – How do we celebrate Mental Health Month here at Psych Central? We review the latest statistics on mental illness of course! This top post reveals everything you’ve always wanted to know about mental health such as which disorders are more common in women and which ones men are at greater risk for. The results may surprise you.

Happy Birthday Family Mental Health

(Family Mental Health) – Can you believe it’s been a year since Family Mental Health’s been providing insightful information for you and your family?  Take a trip down memory lane with a visit to some of the blog’s “greatest hits.”

Why You Should Hire Someone with ADHD and How to Tap into Their Brilliance

(ADHD in Focus) – It’s the post you wish (as an ADHDer) your employer or potential employer would read. Chock full of good reasons to hire someone with ADHD, it focuses on how having the disorder can actually benefit a company or organization.

The Onion and I…*

(Coming Out Crazy) – A fresh new blog makes this week’s list. Venture over there and you’ll see why. In her first post, blogger Sandy Naiman finds meaning in an onion at her psychiatrist’s office.

In a Good Relationship, Partners Inspire One Another

(Always Learning) – An interesting look into Self Psychology and how it applies to relationships. After watching Jerry Seinfeld’s Marriage Ref every week, reading this will remind you what good relationships are for. Warning: It may make you appreciate your partner even more.
