Thank you for sharing such a personal story with your readers. I know from experience that the worst thing about depression is how isolating it can feel. Thank you for reminding your friend that she is still a whole person, that there are people reaching out to help her, that she is not alone. By extension you are reaching out to everyone who thinks they have to suffer through their depression alone. I hope your blog post will encourage others to speak up and share their stories. It is amazing how much the simple act of talking about experiences with mental illness can help people to begin the healing process.

Depression makes us blind to the good things in life. All we see is the dark side in everything. The dark side is everywhere. We have to fight to open up the good things in life and make them more prominent than the dark side, so that our minds can fight this illness and stay alive as well. There really is hope. Honest, there is.
