More Psych Tweeps

By Sandra Kiume

Out of fairness I couldn’t put us in the top ten list, but PsychCentral tweeps have some great Twitter accounts.

Therese Borchard and everyone else who makes this site so valuable, I hope you’ll get accounts too. :)

Another great source is @johnschin! Positive psychology, sports psych, psychology of music. He’s a positive psychologist and author in the Bay Area.

So I was clicking around and found this! And then I read my name and was confused and then started to laugh. Do you have an email Sandra? Would like to discuss further. I’m not sure if John told you, but I am an IDIOT with all things technological. My email is therese@thereseborchard.com. Thanks.

Nice job with this and the first post. I tweet as @happier with a focus on positive psychology, online tools and assessments. We are happier.com, working with Martin Seligman and other top faculty in positive psychology. We recently tweeted from the IPPA World Congress and will continue to share findings in positive psychology!

I did it! t

Yay!

Welcome, Therese!

Hi, Sandra!

I’ve been on vacation and missed this shout out! Thanks! And thanks for connecting us with so many great psychology Tweeters. Many kudos for encouraging Therese to take the plunge!

I still have not figured out what a ‘tweeter’ is?
My dictionary says it’s a loudspeaker?

I would like some help since this word is used so much here.

Thanks, Kat

Thanks Elvira, I hope you had a nice vacation.

Kat, it refers to people who use Twitter. Click to learn more:

Thank you, Sandra. I still don’t understand but I signed up for it because it seems easy to delete again if ‘went wrong’. I don’t understand why it says: ‘What are you doing”, well, and nothing else. But, I was intrigued that through Twitter, you can send images to websites.

Is that something you can do here as well? the thing is that I have this hobby, and it’s also occupational therapy for me, where I draw little pictures on my computer. I never read the instructions and first it was sort of a matter of luck, but now I am figuring out what I can do.

And what comes out are often really great pictures, (drawings) that would make such good company to go along with a comment or other story. it’s hard to explain.

When I do it, it’s like ‘automatic writing’, and I don’t even think about what I am doing, but I have a whole collection and a few times someone has asked me if they can use a drawing for their newsletter, etc.

Anyway, Thanks, Katrin

Hi Katrin - maybe a more traditional blog would be better suited for your drawings? There are also some great art sharing communities online. Here are a couple of popular options:

Have fun!

Thank you so much, Sandra. I submitted 5 drawing to ‘deviantart’, and I am a little nervous because I never read directions and now I already have messages that people have placed drawings under ‘their favorites’ and buyers for another.

That’s wonderful Katrin, I’m glad you’ve found fans already.
