Well, summer’s almost here (10 more days!) and with the coming summer, school graduations and such, we here at Psych Central try tackle some of our longer-term, time-intensive projects. One of those projects is close to its official release (and if you are a member of our Psych Central community, you’ve already had a chance to beta test it!).

Summertime’s also a good time (at least in the northern hemisphere) to get outside and reconnect with nature and the outdoors. You don’t have to be an “outdoorsy” type to enjoy being outside. Whether it’s just enjoying a good BBQ or sports game, or something more adventurous such as hiking or camping, take a break from your ordinary routine and spend some time outside. By yourself or with others — either’s good! Especially up here in New England, summer seems far too short, so perhaps this advice is meant as much for me as it is for you.

This is also a great time to remind our regular readers that World of Psychology is an open psychology blog. That means we take occasional contributions from others who’d like to access our broad reach and audience here. Contributions should be psychology or mental health related, and be written for ordinary people (sorry, no academic essays!).
