I should note that Nemeroff appears to be okay, as he's landed a position at the University of Miami (which apparently doesn't care about his alleged lapses in professional judgment and ethics):

[...] There are so many problems with psychiatry today. Medication merely exchanges one set of problems for another. One woman, on a blog somewhere, put it nicely when she said that anti-depressants didn’t make her depression go away per se, they just made her stop caring about being depressed. My therapist (now fired) has told me on many occasions that I have trust issues. Yes, I do. I don’t trust the motivations of big pharma. This is the industry that has spent 1.6 Billion in lobbying congress alone, more than any other industry (from 1998-2008). They also spend much more in direct-to-consumer advertising than they do in actual research. A somewhat smaller, but still significant amount, is spent on pens, posters, coffee mugs, and other trinket advertisements which their reps gleefully drop off at doctor’s offices, as they invite them to vacations conferences, fully funded by these companies, or by some lackey academic psychiatrist who’s willing to sell his soul for a couple of hundred thousand dollars in “consulting fees” or 4.8 million in company stock, in the case of a Harvard psychiatrist who had been a staunch advocate for medicating children for ADHD.
Anyone who is in the business of mental health care should be, or made to be aware of CIRCARE. Over the years they have exposed countless ways that the Big Pharma industry has been, in some times, fatally negligent. They have championed against misleading, non-FDA products, vetted doctors that are abusing their oaths of "First Do No Harm". In short, although they are supremely underfunded, they serve as a viscious watch-dog, in a world where tea-cup breeds are the norm. I suggest that anyone involved with any aspect of health care go to their site.
