Sierra Tuscon is far from a high end spa and has strict rules and regulations. They have no special rooming (we all share). Yes, it is expensive, but you do get what you pay for and more. By the way the Olympic size pool is beautiful, but seldom used by women due to the rule of no shaving and having to wear your grandmothers one peice!!
I wish her the best, and hopes she works the program to the fullest.

I was diagosed at about the same time Heather was with depression and anxiety. It’s a daily battle having to wake up and have the energy to get going. But I’m married with 3 small children that need their mother. I just pray that with the meds and counseling that at some point the depression and the pills go away, so I can feel the way I did before this roller coaster ride hit.

i commend heather for her courage to be real and strive for the desire to live.
i’m not sure what’s up with denise but somehow with all the possibities in the world to form an intimate relationship, why would someone make such selfish decisions?

Gearge Carlin dies and gets a page in the back half while everyone is supposed to give a **** that Heather is depressed, so SHE gets the cover????

She is a third rate actress who’s greatest accomplishment was marrying a 2nd rate rock star.

I hope that Paris Hilton does not decide to give up sex for a week when a Clint Eastwood or Jack Nicholson dies, and robs the cover from them. Peaple (quickly becoming the Natioinal Enquirer of glossy mgazines) will surley put her on the cover to give tinted haired, SUV driving soccer moms their “fix”.

Actually the vast majority of people who suffer from depression recover from it. Unlike diabetes or heart disease which are chronic conditions. One in five women will suffer from major depression and I am quite sure that nearly all of them recover.

Since this article is the most clicked on clearly people are interested. The clinic she went to Sierre Tuscon is very expensive and you are required to stay for 30 days of treatment in most cases. They have an olympic sized swimming pool, horse therapy, private suites and it is like a high end spa. Since many insurance policies discriminate against those who have bio-chemical disorders in their brain versus in their body only the wealthy can afford it.

I hope that this face being putting with mental illness will better the public’s attitude. There are no boundaries with mental illness. It touches every family. i wish her well. I don’t think this is “Entertainment Weekly.” I am glad that PsychCentral tells her story with grace and dignity. I am sure she would be too.

She’s lucky she can afford the best. My wife suffers from bipolar her meds cost about $1,000 per month our medical only covers about $350.00 per month. Mental illness is chronic and it gets worse with age.

I don’t care if she is famous or not. Depression is a disease that does not discriminate. I hope she gets well and gets her life back on track. All the money, looks, fame, etc., in the world doesn’t heal everything. I’m glad that famous figures are coming out about their problems. It makes the rest of us “regular people” feel like we aren’t the only ones. Thank you Heather and get well.

It does seem a little odd…but maybe the point of including it is to further refute the old idea, which many of us still harbor, that people who are rich and good-looking don’t have any problems.

Many people, especially women, look at someone like her and think “If I had her figure/her money/her looks/her life, I’d never feel sad, lonely, worthless or afraid, like I do now.” It just goes to show that it can, and does, happen to everyone.

If only everyone who needs intensive help could afford to just drop out of life and go to a fancy residential facility for a few weeks.
