Whether intentional or just inept, the BMJ did everyone a disservice by approving this research, as it stands today, for publication. It adds nothing to our base of knowledge about what people who are actually suicidal really search for and find online.

And the media reporting on the research leaves much to be desired in terms of objectivity or acknowledgement of the study&#039;s limitations.</description>

Like you, I suspect &#039;investigator bias&#039; but I look at this from the perspective of a search/web specialist - the methodology is fatally flawed and is basically ridiculously inept on a whole series of counts.
