		<description>John, I agree, as an academic with a small practice, I have to work very hard to connect my research work to actual clinical applications. I strongly believe that bridging research and practice is very important and that communication must be bi-directional. Such that clinical expertise aids study design and aims and research outcomes aid clinical practice. I think this can be achieved on a local level, with academics getting involved in local psychological societies/trade organizations for the explicit purpose of sharing ideas with clinicians.</description>
