[...] Check it out! While looking through the blogosphere we stumbled on an interesting post today. Here’s a quick excerptUnless the whole point was to get increased media coverage of the “controversy,” which provides a far better reach than any paid advertising.
By casting the disorder as a "kidnapper" they make it both a "crime" to be affected and they name children to be "victims" because of their differentness. Yuck.

Dear Ad Campaign Manager:
We have your good judgment. Without it you are bankrupt and an out of control Id. You can develop it, but you really have to want it. We'll await signs of your commitment to being a thoughtful, reasoning person on this planet.

"They note how parents of autistic children, led by folks like Autism Vox, have created an online petition to object to the ad campaign."

It should be noted that neither Kristina Chew, nor parents of autistic children created the response letter and petition against NYU Child Center's Ransom Notes campaign. It was created by Ari Neeman, an autistic self advocate. He was joined by 13 disability groups and concerned parents like Kristina Chew. However, much of the press seems to be leaving out the fact that it was an autistic person who started this protest.
