The anonymity which blogging provides is vital. In this way one can add to one's blogroll and respond/reply to whoever one wants. The etiquette is different - someone requesting to be added to a blogroll may well be ignored on a blog. This is harder to do on 'Facebook' because, as another episode of Seinfeld asks - does, say, a guy break up with a guy friend?
