Some follow-up to a couple of posts here at World of Psychology this week: John wrote about new ADHD research; which is a popular topic, but how well do we understand Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder? Here’s a great video geared to the whole community including parents and researchers. Julie Schweitzer explains what exactly ADHD, ADD and OCD are, history of the disorder(s), behavioural and medical treatments, and talks about people living with ADHD instead of just statistics and studies (though they’re included too). She’s a warm, friendly and engaging speaker. In a big chunk of the video she answers audience questions including worry over medicating kids. It’s a bit long, an hour and a half, but if you’ve got some time and have personal concerns about ADHD, it’s a good video.
