So if a man is taking flowmax, or the generic brand, is there anyway to get the semen back and have normal releases? Vitamins, etc?

Had a 4mm kidney stone and was prescribed .4mg Flomax 1 per day. I’m single so had a wank. No problem with the erection but what a let down when not a drop came out. I have stopped taking Flomax. I will pass the stone naturally.

A zinc supplement will often help with increase semen volume.

Thank you all for your helpful comments. I had similar side
effects and substituted ProstavarRx instead of Flomax.
Absloutely NO side effects. Worked extremely well for about
1 year, then had to go on Flomax for a month. Serous side
effects returned. Will continue alternating in this manner
as long as possible.

Costs are about the same.

I take flomax for BPH and it DID cut my jiz down to zero. However, if life deals you a lemon, you can make some pretty good lemon aid. In this case, I was able to persuade my wife to give enthusiastic blow jobs. Most women just don’t enjoy a big shot of “man-cream” in their mouth at the climax of the BJ. I know this is a very old post, but I searched for it today as I had similar issue. I was diagnosed with an inflammed prostate several months ago and put on Levaquin(sp?) an anti-inflammatory. I eventually got off that and the urologist put me on a Flomax generic to keep the parts down there working ok. (At one office visit he did a test a saw I was not emptying my bladder).
I’ve been on the Flomax generic for about 2 weeks strong now (one pill every night before bed). This morning when I ejaculated it ‘sputtered’ out of my penis with barely any force. Mind you it has been 5 days since my last one so I figured it would be a lot.
It def. bothered me so I jumped online for some answers and found this. I just hope that when I am off it (doc recommended 6 weeks at least) that I can produce normally. I’m 29 and my wife and I want to start trying to get pregnant Spring of next year.

I am having intercourse and have that feeling of ejaculating during oral. i tell my wife to stop because you know she does not sw_____. I’m in my eighties and still get sexual urges. Unfortunately, I have been taking Flomax for several years and it has almost totally inhibited my flow of semen. The drug works well for what it is primarily supposed to do, i.e., allow urine to flow freely, but the down side is: just a few drops, if any,of semen when ejaculating. If anyone knows of a safe substitute for Flomax that accomplishes the same thing but does not inhibit semen flow, please let it be known.

I am on flowmax and have taken 2 days now. I am in my 30′s. I have a prostate issue I guess. Did the cipro for 2 weeks which helped a bit. But I just stroked it and barely had anything come out. I usually have a huge load. Kind of depressing.

I’m 58 years old and have been having an enlarged prostate for about 5 years now. Nothing I have taken seems to help. I started on Flomax a little over a year ago. It seemed to help a little with the urine flow but as others have mentioned here semen output is at zero now. I asked my urologist about that and he prescribed Cipro. The Cipro does not appear to have helped at all so after a month I make my return visit to the doc and he increases the flomax to two capsules per night.

OK so now when I reach orgasm, no semen comes out at all. When I do finally fall asleep after lying in bed for hours, I toss & turn the rest of the night keeping the wife awake as well.

What’s worst? Getting up to pee 3 or more times per night, Or staying awake most of the night, and not ejaculating during sex?

Time to change doctors again I guess.

I’m 56 and it’s definitely helped with urination issues. I can now drink beer for 18 holes and only have to urinate once during the round. Also, the amount of semen at ejaculation has decreased, but the sensation of orgasm has, if anything, increased.

My VA physician’s assistant prescribed Flomax (tamsulosin) 0.4mg and a count of 10. Have taken 8 and have noticed that urine stream has improved, but still pee in two streams at times.

I’m 76 and have a younger girlfriend ….had sex this a.m. (I’m an early riser ….no pun intended) and noticed a definite decrease in ejaculate as opposed to just prior to my taking tamsulosin.

Would hope that after this prescription is completed, semen volume increases.

I have three refills of this RX, but they are all to be filled every sixty days. Don’t know if I want to continue tamsulosin, but will think about it.

The VA followed up yesterday with a prescription for ciprofloxacin 500mg for alleged prostatitis. Read the contraindications and side effects ….think I would rather have a prostate infection than take this stuff.

I don’t really know if anyone will benefit from my rant and information here, but it made ME feel better.

I have taken Flomax now for about one week, after two days my flow was back to normal but the volume is still low. I hope that will improve over time, on the whole I am very pleased with the results so far.
