We’re always thankful when we’re recognized by websites, organizations, or companies in the world of mental health and psychology, because it reminds us that our mission is an important one and people are seeing how hard we work to fulfill it here.
But we’re especially thankful when we’re recognized by some of our own colleagues, namely those in the American Psychological Association’s Division 12, The Society for Clinical Psychology. This society is largely made up of practicing psychologists and is currently headed up by the well-known Marsha M. Linehan, Ph.D., ABPP, the founder of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
In Volume 60, Issue 2 (Summer 2007) of the Society’s newsletter, Psych Central is listed in 4th place, right behind the APA itself, as one of the most useful “go-to” information and resources in psychology, in a Top 10 listed compiled by Simon A. Rego, Psy.D. That’s one place ahead of WebMD!
In fourth was a site managed by John M. Grohol, Psy.D. The site claims to be the Internet’s largest and oldest mental health social network created and run by mental health professionals to guarantee reliable, trusted information and support communities to consumers, for over 12 years.
Thank you for the kind words and listing. We’re both honored and humbled by the acknowledgment.
