Psychological Treatment for IBS

By Will Meek, Ph.D.

There is a growing belief that certain somatic problem like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are inherantly tied to mental health problems; in the case of IBS, certain anxiety disorders. The CBC is reporting on research that has shown psychological treatments like psychotherapy and hypnosis are effective at reducing IBS symptoms. The article has an interesting conceptualization for consumers on how the mind-body interaction can take place and create something like IBS, and I hope that there is continued movement in this area since diet management alone may not get at the core, underlying problems.

“Psychological Treatment for IBS”

There are somatic symptoms that arise with the exercises Qi Gong and Kundalini Yoga.

Both exercises create the “special circumstances” for exposure from Subliminal Distraction. Depression, intense fear, paranoia have been noted. Deaf Mutism happened as a temporary outcome on the Belgian Polar Expedition of 1989.

That was a case of mass insanity that resolved when the expedition members worked outside to chop their stranded ship out of thirteen months in polar ice. That point to SD as the cause.

Many daily activities create light exposure from Subliminal Distraction.

It would be expected that any therapy that alters your schedule thus reducing that exposure would help with those somatic symptoms.

Like ICU Psychosis somatic symptoms stop when Kundalini Yoga is stopped.

I just finished reading this blog..its very informative and interesting too..By the way, I found a awesome site that has similar kind of
