Working Your Way Through Bipolar Disorder

By John M. Grohol, PsyD
Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Philip, who grapples with bipolar disorder, had a great entry in his blog entitled, Slouching Toward Recovery with this gem,

The bottom line with meds is that you’ve got to be in control of what you are taking or not taking. Doctors work for us, not the other way around. And, if you are unhappy with a med and want to go off, then you need to go off it under medical supervision — playing games with powerful medications is not smart.

A perfect followup to my earlier entry about talking to your doc about med changes (amongst other things).

BTW, Furious Seasons, Philip’s blog, has emerged as one of the best blogs to read in 2007 on mental health.
