Thanksgiving...Christmas...etc...can all be times of torment instead of cheer. The Norman Rockwell family gathered around the holiday table may exist for the majority of families, but some of us come from such wickedly painful backgrounds, and shameful secrets. There are those of us who have little to be thankful for...I am one, but I will try to find ONE thing...if only ONE thing to give thanks for...even if I am absent from the holiday table...for my own sanity and dignity.
