Another Early Intervention Program Opens in Canada

By Heather Cox
February 28, 2006

Another new early psychosis intervention program in Canada is launching a major educational campaign, aimed at helping young people - “Psychosis sucks!” is the slogan -understand what schizphrenia is. They have some good information on what do to if you or someone you know has symptoms of psychosis, on treatment and recovery, and on why early intervention is important. The campaign also features personal stories from four clients, which is great because things like this help humanize the disorder and debunk stigmas.

The program is facilitated through the Fraser Health Authority and the Fraser Region Ministry of Children and Family Development, Child and Youth Mental Health and operates in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Click here to visit their website and learn more.
