She has issues with trust.

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

From a college student: I have an issue with trust. I trust my boyfriend with secrets or things like that but i do not trust him with girls. I get very mad when he talks to other girls or looks at other girls. I automatically assume he is cheating on me. I get mad when he wastes money on thing he doesnt need. He tells me all the time how much he cares about me. I guess i just do not believe him. I care about him so much. I want to be with him. I just have a short temper. I dont understand what is going on. Please help me clarify this.

A: My guess is that the closer you find

How angry is it okay to be?

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Hi,

Two years ago I was living by myself 1200+ miles away from home. I was studying for a masters, but I was getting so depressed and going a little crazy by myself that I came back to live w/my family since this summer. I always thought of myself as lucky and blessed that my parents were married from the beginning (that they've been married for 25+ yrs).

Anyways, about a month ago, my dad decided that he no longer could stand my mom and asked her for a divorce. Never mind that my mom has not worked since they got married (a decision they both had made since they got married), but anyways. I make more money than he does right now. Since I

His girlfriend won’t get a job!

Monday, October 29th, 2007

My girlfriend and I have been living together for about a year with her two kids. She won't get a job because she says it will cost a lot of money to put her 4 year old in day care. She also tells me she does not want to start a career somewhere if we're going to get married and she's going to get pregnant. She has very bad credit and she spends what little money she has mostly on things other than bills. I pay for about 90% of things in the household to include all the bills, food, and gas. Her other son is 11 years old and goes to school. Do you think she has a valid excuse or should she ...

She has trouble trusting her husband.

Monday, October 29th, 2007

I am so confused. I do not know what to do. About a couple months back my husband lied to me about being at home. I work nights from 7p-7a and I usually call him at night around 8-9pm to say hi and check on the kids. That night I found out he dropped off the kids at my mom's house around 8:30p which is usual if he has to go in to work early the next day and he told the kids that he was tired and was going to bed. Well, I called him at home around 9pm and he was not answering the phone or his cell phone. I called for about 1 hour and finally around 10pm I got a hold ...

I like a girl with paranoid schizophrenia, but should i get involved?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Q. In July of 2007, I spent time in a psych hospital. While I was there I met this girl. She was the most beautiful I have ever saw. I spent seven days there, and I left. Most of the days I spent in the hospital were spent talking to her about herself, and she really opened up to me. She never told me that she had Schizophrenia, and when I would ask her what she was diagnosed with, she would say I don't know. I did notice little things, like staring into space, she would always keep her arms folded, and was very quiet.

When I left I got her number, and I thought she would be out not long after I left.

Antipsychotic medications that don’t cause diabetes type II

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Q. My son is diagnosed bipolar 2, and is currently on abilify (a specific for bipolar 1, and an increased risk for diabetes) and effexor. Can you suggest other medications specific for bipolar 2 that do not increase his diabetes risk that I might research?

A. The problem is that most of the atypical antipsychotic medications (which is the type of medication that Ability is classified as) tend to increase an individual’s risk for type II diabetes, known formally as adult onset diabetes. Some medications are thought to be better than others.

Recently, a panel of endocrinologists and psychiatrists published a rank ordered list of atypical antipsychotic medications. They ranked them in order from greatest to the least risk on metabolic effects. Olanzapine (Zyprexa)

Is this post-partum depression?

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Is it normal to encounter post partum depression when your baby is about 6 months old? Could this be post partum or just depression?

A: Yes. It is in the normal range for a woman to develop post-partum depression up to a year after giving birth. Post-partum depression is more common than you might think, affecting 15% to 25% of the population. You are not at all alone if you are feeling sad or irritable and wondering why you aren't happier in what is supposed to be a joyful time in life.

But it could also be that you are feeling depressed for other reasons. Maybe the usual hormonal shifts that follow birth are making it harder for you to cope with things that you would

I am scared to come out. What do you suggest?

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

I am 21 and I have known I am gay for almost 6 years now but am too scared to tell anyone. The first 4 years of my questioning I was pretty much in denial. I have been raised in a Christian home where homosexuality is a sin. My parents have always encouraged individuality from me but I’m not sure how they will react to me telling them. I am more scared of telling my friends who might think of me differently. Homosexuality is more or less a joke to them. They kid with each other about gay sex and so forth. I know they wonder about me, i am relatively attractive but have never had a boyfriend. i will date someone for a month ...

I told my therapist I have a suicide plan.

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Q: A while back I told my therapist through email I have had a plan to kill myself since I was around 12. I am now 21. She hasn't really brought it up, and in a way I want her to. I want her to help, but I don't know how. Once you create a plan, how do you ever just "forget it", it's always there and any time I get stressed, my mind feels like it laughs because I have a 'perfect' plan to just escape. It scares me...

A: It’s time to bite the bullet and tell your therapist about your plan face to face. Maybe since you have had it for so long she just thought you were giving her
