Q. About a month ago or more I had asked you if you knew of any impartial studies and information relating the success of marriages with couples (of either heterosexual or homosexual origin) to whether the couples had engaged in premarital sex with each other or if they had waited till after marriage. You never answered. I imagine it is because I am not presenting a personal issue that could be of educational benifit to others who browse this link, but none the less I am asking you this for “educational purposes only” and I would very much appreciate it if you would email me a response.
A. I do not know of any studies off hand but a literature search into the behavioral sciences literature databases could most certainly yield the types of studies you are searching for. Since you mentioned that you are a student, most universities have direct access for their students to many online databases such as PsychoInfo, Medline, PubMed, and others that can help you find the studies you are searching for. Unfortunately, I do not have the time do conduct these searches for you. I would recommend that you do those searches in those databases for the topic you wish to study. If you do not have access to these types of online databases at your university, a trip to the library could also help yield the research results you are interested in. Good luck.
